ABOUT Vojin Kocić
Vojin Kocić was born in 1990 in Smederevo (Serbia), where he started playing guitar at the age of 8. With a repertoire that spans from the Renaissance to the 21st century, Vojin's playing is a captivating blend of musical expression and virtuosity. He has been described as the "master of soft tones" by critics and rightfully earns his place among the elite of the international guitar scene.
Kocić has been awarded over 50 recognitions, including first place at high-ranking international guitar competitions, special awards, scholarships, and certificates. In 2014, he won first prize at the Prix Credit Suisse Jeunes Solistes, in which soloists of all classical instruments participate, as well as prizes at competitions including Incontri Chitarristici di Gargnano, Ruggero Chiesa, International Guitar Festival and Competition in Heinsberg, Michele Pittaluga Guitar Competition in Alessandria.
Vojin's recordings for the NAXOS label have received critical acclaim and he has performed in over 300 solo and chamber music concerts worldwide, including at renowned festivals such as Lucerne Festival, Verbier Festival, and Music Olympus in St. Petersburg.
As a guitar professor at the Zurich University of the Arts, Vojin continues to inspire and nurture the next generation of musicians. He performs on a guitar crafted by Jean Noel Rohe and uses D'Addario strings, further enhancing the beauty of his musical expression.
