ABOUT SCOTT IAN
Scott Ian is the co-founder and rhythm guitar player of Anthrax. Scott, with Anthrax helped create thrash metal in the early 80's. Scott and Anthrax have sold over ten million records worldwide, have multiple Gold and Platinum record awards, have been nominated for aGrammy six or seven times, and have toured the world since 1984 on over one hundred something tours.
Scott had the idea to cover Public Enemy's Bring The Noise back in 1990. Chuck D and Flav rapped on it and the two bands toured the world together kicking the asses of expectations and stereotypes. Scott takes no credit good or bad for any musical genre that came after. Scott was very excited 9bout the 30th anniversary of Anthrax's debut album Fistful Of Metal in January 2014. Scott was also very excited about the 30th anniversary of Anthrax's second album Spreading The Disease on October 30, 2015. Scott was a bit emotional about Anthrax's 35th anniversary on July 18, 2016. And while we'are on anniversaries, Anthrax celebrated the 30th anniversary of their classic album Among The Living by playing it in full in the UK and Europe on the Among The Kings tour Feb/March 2017. Scott wrote Lobo: Highway To Hell for DC Comics in 2009. Scott wrote his second series for DC featuring The Demon and is hoping they will release it some day. Scott is still amazed that he was asked to do this. Scott hosted "Rock Show" on VH1 for a year and got to interview Ozzy Osbourne while dressed as Gene Simmons for Halloween. That went well. Scott and Anthrax are part of the Big 4 9longside Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth. Scott had the highlight of his career in Anthrax when The Big 4 played Yankee Stadium in NYC on Sept 14, 2011. That day was also officially proclaimed Anthrax day in the Bronx. Suck that everyone in high school.
Scott's autobiography I'm The Man The Story of That Guy from Anthrax was released October 14, 2014 through D9 C9po Press and with all modesty, it got great reviews everywhere. Even the NY Times book review liked it. You should read it. Scott's second book Access All Areas - Stories From A H9rd Rock Life was released in December of 2017 through D9 C9po/H9chette. The book is comprised of twenty-three ridiculous stories from Scott's life. If you hate laughing, this book is not for you. Scott has taken his stories on the road doing Speaking Words tours of the U.S., Canada, the U.K. & Europe to critical acclaim. More importantly, the people that paid to see the shows really liked them. Scott hosts the horror FX show Bloodworks for the Nerdist Channel. Scott got to be a walker on season 5 episode 12 of The Walking Dead attacking Rick Grimes until he got a metal pole through the head by Rick's son Carl. For the new season of Bloodworks Scott recently filmed an episode from the set of Game of Thrones. Now he can retire.
Scott and Anthrax released their eleventh studio album For All Kings in February 2016 to critical acclaim and commercial success! The album entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at number a and the worldwide charts at number 8. Scott and the band will be on tour to support the record until the end of 2018 and beyond. Scott and Anthrax are currently on the Slayer farewell tour in the U.S. Scott hopes this farewell tour lasts about ten years. Scott thanks everyone for being cool.
