"The days of getting 2-3 good reeds out of a box of 5 are over. Select Jazz Reeds are the most consistent reeds I've ever encountered. Every reed works great right out of the box and the edginess that this cut provides blends well with everything from my sax/DJ shows to my hip hop jazz gigs."

ABOUT FKAjazz
Grammy nominated, Billboard charting musician and producer FKAjazz was born and raised in Houston, Texas. FKAjazz (aka Samir Zarif) began performing at the age of three, first learning piano and violin, then eventually saxophone.
After high school, he moved to New Orleans, where he performed and recorded with Nicholas Payton, Jill Scott, Jon Batiste, the Jason Marsalis Quintet, and other luminaries before enrolling at the Manhattan School of Music in New York in the early 2000s. Before taking on the moniker FKAjazz, Samir Zarif was a part of many indie jazz groups and big bands, including The Paislies (Fresh Sounds New Talent), The Story, the Miguel Zenon Identities Project and more. During that time, Samir Zarif toured throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe, performing at festivals such as The North Sea Jazz Festival, Newport Jazz Festival, and the Jazz & Heritage Festival of New Orleans.
Branching beyond jazz, FKAjazz channels multiple aspects of Black-American music (jazz, hiphop, R&B, etc.) as a composer, musician, producer, and DJ. Following a landmark performance at Webster Hall in New York in late 2016, FKAjazz released his debut album "Stereotype Threat" in 2017 and has since performed regularly in New York City, both as a bandleader and DJ. He has appeared on BRIC TV, toured throughout Japan with members of his collective Trew Culture, and more. He's been acclaimed as "an artist who refuses to be pinned down" and lauded for blending "a new vision with old-school precision to create an exciting new take on jazz." United Press International concluded FKAjazz "fearlessly plays with precision and a passion that takes you on a musical journey like no other. There is greatness here."
