Louie Mendez is a professional musician, composer, and producer from Los Angeles, California. Louie has performed, recorded, shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the entertainment business.
The artists Louie has performed, recorded, and/or shared the stage with include; Los Lobos, Johnny Cash, War, The Mavericks, Rose Royce, Rage Against the Machine, El Tri, Manana No, The Teas Tornados, Flaco Jimenez, Brenton Wood, Mariachi Sol de Mexico, Lalo Guerrero, and many, many more.
Louie has been a member of SAG-AFTRA since 1991. Louie played a primary role as a Musician-Singer and Guitar player in the 2022 film "THE GROTTO,” Which just won an award for best film premiere at the 2022 Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis. He was also in the 2000 film "Double Take" Starring Eddie Griffin, Orlando Jones, and Vivica A. Fox. Louie appeared on camera and recorded two songs for the film with his band "Los Rock Angels". Additionally, Louie composed music for the 1995 film "And the Earth Did Not Swallow Him,” starring Marco Rodriguez, Lupe Ontiveros, Daniel Valdez and Sal Lopez, as well as for the PBS Documentary "A Better Tomorrow."
In addition to his film credits, Louie also filmed three national television commercials, has worked on International TV shows, and has been in few music and comedy videos.
In December of 2010 Louie composed, arranged, performed, and produced a Christmas CD "Christmas in the Barrio" on Suave Grooves Records, which was officially released in 2011. Louie also has ongoing performance gigs with Grammy award winning artists Flaco Jimenez, The Texas Tornados, Los Tex Maniacs, and The Mavericks, whenever they come to California on tour, and continues to be a prominent musical contributor to the industry.
